Yep. It's a thing.

And a quite fun thing I might add.

Except in my case, it was more goat than yoga. More like goat therapy.

My departmental director decided we needed a team outing. After an exhaustive search and much angst, she landed on goat yoga. Excellent choice.

Goat yoga has been around since 2016. And it caught on like Apple's iPhone -- well, at least it's off to a good start. It's trending.

Goat yoga isn't goats doing yoga. It's humans doing yoga with goats all around, and sometimes on, them. Or, as some people prefer, it's sitting on a yoga mat petting goats while watching other people do yoga with goats on them.

That's the beauty of it. You do what relaxes you (yoga or sitting), aided by happy goats. Animals, including goats, are used in therapy. And research show one of the reasons why they make us happy. Interacting with animals such as cats, dogs, horses, and goats increases the level of the feel-good hormone oxytocin. The hormone is also called "the love hormone" because it increases with hugs, kisses, sex, and childbirth. And that helps us bond with others.

As it turns out, goats are the perfect team-building catalyst.
